Mother Bear Project has donated 800 Teddy Bears to Great Plains Foundation
The Mother Bear Project is a non-profit organization in the US dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children in rural communities by giving them a gift of love in the form of hand-knit and crocheted bears. This year Mother Bear Project knitted 800 bears for the Great Plains Foundation and shipped 400 bears to Kenya and 400 bears to Botswana.
“The kids were just so happy to receive the teddy bears, this bought with it lots of smiles” – Head Teacher
The Teddy Bears were then distributed to primary school kids in the regions. The schools that are within the communities that Great Plains have been supporting for many years received the bears. For example the Mbirikani Group Ranch in the Chyulu Hills region of Kenya are also supported through our Great Plains School Food Scheme providing meals to 6,850 kids as well as our Support for Teachers salaries scheme.
