Great Plains has a strong focus on Education in the rural communities surrounding wildlife areas. To ensure school children are excelling in school we have a variety of projects on the go. For example, in Kenya, we support school meals for 6,850 kids to ensure they stay in school and progress. Other examples are supporting teachers’ salaries to ensure a dedicated education program, donating educational materials where needed and more.
One of our ongoing projects supports school children that struggle with their eyesight in class and when studying. A partnership between Great Plains Foundation and 4x4Outfar is a Mobile Eyesight Clinic that moves between the communities testing all school kids’ eyes between the ages of 10-13 and supplying eyeglasses to those in need.
Project costs can range from $2,500 to $50,000 and donor support for these projects in whole or in part is always welcome.
